Joe DiMaggio Signed 1939 Play Ball PSA/DNA 10

Rare autographed example of Joe DiMaggio's most recognizable card, flawlessly signed in blue Sharpie across the front. Signature graded GEM MINT 10 by PSA/DNA. Produced during the early years of DiMaggio's Major League career, this classic card is one of the standouts from the era. Not only is it one of the keys to the 1939 Play Ball set, but it is also one of the most popular of all prewar baseball cards. Because the card itself has always been an extremely highly prized and valuable collectible in its own right, it was not an item that the average fan would submit to DiMaggio during a signing show in the 1980s or '90s (when this card was signed), which is no doubt in part responsible for the rarity of signed examples today. This is the first signed DiMaggio 1939 Play Ball card we have ever offered and we can only recall having seen a few others at auction over the years. Adding to the desirability of this particular card is its exceptional condition. The card is a very strong, clean example, well centered and displays only very modest corner wear. This item comes encased in a PSA/DNA holder for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
