1921 Game 1 World Series Ticket Stub - NY Yankees 1st Ever World Series Game PSA
The New York Yankees have played in 40 World Series and won 27. This incredible run started on October 5, 1921 at the Polo Grounds against New York Giants. Although the Yankees would win that first game, they would eventually lose the series in 8 games. As far as what happened in this 3-0 Yankee victory, Babe Ruth got his first Yankee World Series hit and RBI, and Frankie Frisch went 4-4 at the plate. This 91 year old ticket is about as rare as it gets, a true POP 1 on the PSA POP Report, the only one they have authenticated and slabbed to date. The ticket itself is in very good condition with excellent eye appeal. There is some rounding of the corners, a few light creases and a small bit of paper loss on the reverse from the usher tear. For any collector trying to put together the full Yankee World Series ticket run, this historically significant ticket is the one that has been nothing short of elusive, until now. This item comes encased in a PSA holder for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
